LeDuff served six years as Chief-of-Police for the City of Baton Rouge. Prior to his tenure as Chief, he graduated from the FBI National Academy in 1994, and was the first Louisiana officer to graduate as class president. He also attended the FBI’s Law Enforcement Administration Development School (L.E.A.D.S) and National Executive Institute of Law Enforcement Management Training. He spent many years training law enforcement officers from across the country in the art of self-defense. Additionally, he was the lead instructor for the Baton Rouge Police Academy.

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Kelly LeDuff graduated from Catholic High School and attended Southern University.  In 2004, while working part-time with a janitorial company at Kansas City Southern Railroad (KCS) his commitment and work ethic did not go un-noticed.  He was hired as a conductor at KCS and eventually became the youngest manager on that railroad.  Through his years in the railroad industry, Kelly’s drive and passion ultimately lead him to Canadian National Railway Company (CN).

While working for CN, Kelly’s entrepreneurial spirit surfaced, and he started several businesses in the Baton Rouge area. In 2009, with the murder of his uncle near the railroad tracks where he worked for many years, Kelly knew he had a bigger purpose.  Combining his experience in the private sector, with his father’s 30 year career in law enforcement, OpenEyes Safety Training and Consulting was created.

Kelly’s initial vision of providing the Baton Rouge area with self-defense training for individuals and businesses has now grown into a multi-faceted company offering state of the art technology, along with consulting and training services.  Partnering with BluePoint Technology, Kelly and his father, Former Police Chief Jeff LeDuff, offer the Blue Box, a rapid response emergency alert system that provides a rapid alert to law enforcement, insuring a rapid response.
